WiseWay is fully committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all users and candidates in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.
Data We Collect
From Recruiters
- Account information (name, email, organisation)
- Position and interview configuration
- Candidate ratings and private notes
From Candidates
- Contact information (name, email, phone — as provided by the recruiter)
- Video recordings of interview answers
- Transcriptions of video answers (where enabled)
- Browser and device metadata (for technical support)
Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored in encrypted databases hosted within the EU
- Video recordings are stored in encrypted cloud storage (S3) with access controls
- Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS at all times
- Access to candidate data is restricted to authorised workspace members
Candidate Rights
Under GDPR, candidates have the right to:

| Erasure | Candidates can request deletion of their data; recruiters can delete candidate records from WiseWay |

| Objection | Candidates can object to processing of their data |
Data Retention
- Active candidate data is retained for the duration of the hiring process
- Archived candidates can be permanently deleted by the recruiter at any time
- Video recordings are deleted when the candidate record is deleted
- Account administrators can configure a custom privacy policy URL in Settings > Defaults that is displayed to candidates before they take an interview
Privacy Policy for Candidates
You can set a custom privacy policy link that candidates see before starting their interview:
- Go to Settings > Defaults
- Scroll to Privacy & GDPR
- Enter your privacy policy URL
- Save
This link appears on the interview landing page, giving candidates transparency about how their data will be used.
